Big Spring running back Dillon Wakefield (21) plows forward during the Bulldogs’ Week 7 battle against the Boiling Springs Bubblers Friday evening. Wakefield finished the game with 18 carries, 115 yards and 2 touchdowns.

 

League and playoff implications added to an already great rivalry as the Big Spring Bulldogs hosted the Boiling Springs Bubblers Friday night to decide “The Battle of the Springs.”

The Bulldogs (5-2, 1-1 Mid Penn Capital) could not get the defensive stops when needed, as Boiling Springs hung a season-high 44 points on the Big Spring defense to win the Battle of the Springs trophy, 44-28.
