Rebecca Cohick

Rebecca Cohick of the Big Spring FFA rehearses her delivery with other regional qualifiers, Catharine Miller and Sarah Lynn, for the CDP Area Public Speaking Competition.

Despite having various challenges this year, the Big Spring FFA was able to compete in the CDP Area Public Speaking Competition. In this competition, members had to deliver their speech via virtual platforms with judges, and competed against other FFA members in the three-county area. In previous years, the members would have competed in person at a church in Mechanicsburg, but due to COVID restrictions, the chapter competed virtually.

Public speaking is a vital skill for all students regardless of their desired career path. This competition helps students hone in on the skills that will be beneficial for them, in high school and beyond.
