Each year, youth ages 11-13 are asked to show off their talent in their creation of posters for the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest. The posters are judged on originality, artistic merit, and demonstration of the theme in their poster. This year’s theme was: “Peace Through Service.”

Eleven-year-old Mya Welsh, a 6th grade student at Big Spring Middle School, earned an honorable mention at the district level for her poster. Her quote on Peace is: “Without Peace, we would be alone forever.”
