Dallas Gilbert

Senior Dallas Gilbert picked up a hard luck loss in the Greyhounds’ 5-2 defeat against Elizabethtown Thursday. The right-hander fanned 9 in 6 innings and allowed only 1 earned run.

Shippensburg ace Dallas Gilbert set out to pitch the Greyhounds closer to their goal of district playoffs and nearly did so, giving up just 1 earned run and striking out 9 in 6 innings. But the ‘Hounds inconsistency, both at the plate and in the field, ultimately cost them in a 5-2 loss to the Elizabethtown Bears Friday at home.

Gilbert was outdueled by Elizabethtown (10-10) ace Josh Kreider, who held the Greyhound (9-9) bats to just 2 earned on 5 hits over 7 frames — and also blasted a two-run home run.
