Shippensburg University’s Eric Kirk (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office after multiple strong performances in the Raider team victory at the 2023 Gulden Invitational hosted by Bucknell.

Kirk was named the 2023 Gulden Invitational Track MVP. His most impressive performance was a victory in the 200 meters with a NCAA provisional qualifier of 22.06 seconds. He ran the opening leg of the victorious 4x400-meter relay that crossed the finish line in 3:23.11 and placed third in the 60 meters with a time of 6.89 seconds.

It’s the second straight year that Kirk was named the Gulden Invitational Track MVP and the third straight year that a Raider has won the award – Aaron Arp Jr. earned the award in 2020 after breaking the school record in the 200 meters at that meet.

Kirk leads the PSAC in both the 60 meters and the 200 meters, and SU’s 4x4 relay from this past weekend also ranks atop the conference.

It is Kirk's fourth career weekly indoor award; he earned the inaugural award this season on Dec. 5 and was honored last season on Jan. 25 and Feb. 22.
