Hello, My name is Guy Hayslett, and I am the Post Commander of the Shippensburg American Legion Post 223. We have sponsored the Midget Football Redskins since the inception of the League. Recently, I found out that not all the sponsors have been doing their share to support the league as they promised. They are clubs just like ours with their small games of chance profits they are by law supposed to donate 40 percent back to the community.

When the Mid Atlantic Wall was placed at Veterans Memorial Park, they were asked for donations, but chose not to help. I think that it is a shame that a private citizen had to step up and take over sponsorship of one of the Midget Football teams. I do commend him for doing so, but I wonder where the other clubs’ donations are going? Even in our worst financial times, The American Legion has done its part.
