Joyce J. Hock

Joyce J. Hock, 93, of Lewistown, and formerly of Shippensburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Born May 28, 1927, in Shippensburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Emma (Patterson) Eyer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Hock; and siblings, Vivian Shuler, Robert and Richard Eyer and Wilma McClelland.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Merrill and husband, Frank, of Lewistown.

She was employed at SKF Industries for 35 years as an inspector.

She attended Ellen Chapel Church in Lewistown.

In her free time, she enjoyed puzzle books, crocheting, traveling to the beach and making winter trips to Florida.

Even though Rhonda was her only child, she had a special love for her niece, Debbie, her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service in loving memory of Joyce will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at Ellen Chapel Church, 11798 Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, Pa. 17044, with Rev. Mark Hill to officiate. There will be a time of visitation held from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Strict COVID-19 protocols will be enforced including social distancing and mandatory mask wearing.

Arrangements are entrusted to The King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Ellen Chapel Church, 11798 Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, Pa. 17044.
