Larry E. Weidman, 67, of Newburg, passed away the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 30, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on April 3, 1955 in Lebanon, a son of the late Elwood E. and Beatrice B. (Bachman) Weidman.
Larry was a 1972 graduate of the Lebanon Area High School. He worked as a truck driver and hauler before becoming a self-employed farmer with his wife, Elaine, in the Newburg area. Larry was an avid collector of antique tractors, loved hunting, and was always there to lend a helping hand to his neighbors.
He is survived by seven children, Keith Weidman of Shippensburg, Melissa (Kevin) Sullivant of Jacksonville, Florida, Joel Weidman of Shippensburg, Katie Knowles of Chambersburg, Michele (Art) Clagett of Lebanon, Melanie (Andy) Reich of Winfield, and Matt Sholley of Shippensburg; 13 grandchildren; and four siblings, Ellen M. (Richard) Drazenovich, Kathy A. (Blaine) Wolf, Joanne L. (Jere)
Bomgardner, and Andrew S. (Jessica) Weidman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine J. (Boltz) Weidman, who passed away on Dec. 23, 2020. Also preceding him in death are two sons, Kevin and Kyle Weidman, and one brother, Donald Lee Weidman.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Otterbein Cemetery. Pastor Bruce Levy will officiate.
There will be no public viewing or visitation.
