Vickie L. (Durf) Dickey, 69, of Leipsic, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, peacefully at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice with her beloved son and daughter-in-law by her side.
She was born March 23, 1953, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to the late George and Betty (Smith) Durf.
On May 22, 1982, she married Bruce “Ed” Dickey, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Brandan (Mariah) Dickey of Leipsic; a sister, Karen Nye of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; a niece, Stacey Barber of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Joanie Martin of Hapeville, Georgia; and her grandpups whom she especially loved, Paris, Buddy and Callie.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Glenn “Butch” Smith; and two sisters, Georgette (Durf) Marzullo and Barbara “BJ” Durf-Martin.
Vickie retired in 2020 after 25 years with RK Industries.
She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who enjoyed her flowers, landscaping and nature watching on the farm.
Vickie and Ed were an over the road (OTR) truck driving team for many years. She longed for the day she would be reunited with the love of her life, Ed.
We will celebrate Vickie’s life from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic, with a small service at 4 p.m.
