Dorothea L. Stonebraker

Dorothea L. “Dottie” Stonebraker, 64, went to be with the Lord at her home in Newville, on Thursday, May 20, 2021, with her family by her side.

Born Sept. 9, 1956, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Merle F. Souder and Blanch (Mixell) Souder.

Dorothea worked and retired from the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot and the New Cumberland Army Depot after 30 years of work.

She was a member of the Newville Legion Post 421, Newville VFW and the Eastern Star as a past matron.

Dorothea enjoyed spending time with her husband, playing Bingo, shooting pool and watching her grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving are her husband of 3 years, Steven Stonebraker; sister, Cindy Finkenbinder (Glenn); brother, Merle L. Souder (Diane); two children, Arika Matthews (Bailey) and Alix Bailey; four stepchildren, Amey White (John), April Barrett, Adam Stonebraker and Aaron Stonebraker; three grandchildren, Courtney, Jacob and Aaron Matthews; seven stepgrandchildren, Jasmine, Brandon, Wade, Wyatt, Keegan, Alice and Brylynn; and one step-great-grandson.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, in the Egger Funeral Home Inc., 15 W. Big Spring Ave. Newville.
