Dorothy R. Bailey Desmond, 93, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
She was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Newville, a daughter of Charles and Myrtle Watson Williamson.
Dorothy is preceded in death by two husbands, William Bailey Sr. and Leonard Desmond.
She had been a self-employed hairdresser, and had worked at Maslands and Reeves Hoffman, both in Carlisle.
She was a member of the Carlisle American Legion, and the AMVETS in Florida.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Lancaster, and her husband, Ken, of Duncannon, and one son, William Bailey Jr. and his wife, Mary; granddaughters, Brandy Darr and husband, Dave, and Kelly Poole and husband, Todd; four great-grandchildren, Zander Darr, Cambree Darr, Ryleigh Poole and Devin Poole; and one sister, Helen Rebuck.
She is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Hartman, and one brother, Ralph Williamson.
A viewing will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, in the Egger Funeral Home Inc., 15 W. Big Spring Ave., Newville. A funeral service will be held with Rev. Yana Pagan officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
