Ivy Marguerite Tattershall Kraker of Shippensburg passed away at age 95, on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
She was born March 30, 1925, in London, England.
Ivy graduated from Starcross Senior Girls’ School and spent the war years employed by the British Ministry of Supply.
In 1947, she moved to New York, New York, where she worked for the fashion designer Mainbocher.
She married the late Frank Kraker in 1951, and settled in Deer Park, New York, where they raised three children.
In 1991, Ivy and Frank moved to Newburg, Pennsylvania, spending the early years of their retirement restoring a stone farmhouse.
Ivy was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, talented needlewoman, and devoted member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
Her sharp wit and mischievous sense of humor was with her to the end, and is greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by son, David and daughter-in-law, Hana, of Kula, Hawaii; daughter, Naomi of Banbury, UK; daughter-in-law Maureen of Cranberry, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Ernest of Hemel Hempstead, UK.
Ivy was predeceased by her son, Victor, in 2008, and husband, Frank, in 2009.
A memorial service to celebrate Ivy’s life will be held at noon on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 204 E. Burd St., Shippensburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation are welcome.
