G. Melvin Baker

G. Melvin Baker, 97, of Shippensburg, passed away the afternoon of Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on Saturday, April 19, 1924, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Roy and Pearl (Barnes) Baker.

Melvin was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, having served as a board member for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Baker; one son, Jerry M. Baker; and one granddaughter, Stephanie L. Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn Baker, Robert L. Baker and Rev. Paul B. Baker; and one sister, Winona Strike.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, with The Rev. Garry L. Culler officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

A viewing will be held the evening before, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
