Harold Eugene “Butch” Cohick, 78, passed away at home on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, surrounded by family.
He was born on March 28, 1943, in Chambersburg, the son of the late Alma and William Cohick, of Shippensburg.
He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Shippensburg.
For more than 25 years, he taught Appliance Repair and Refrigeration at the Franklin County Vocational Technical School, and gave extra time to the VICA Club.
Harold taught EMT classes throughout Franklin and Cumberland counties, volunteering his time as Ambulance Chief and other positions at The Cumberland Valley Hose Co. #2 in Shippensburg.
Harold served in the United States Navy and was a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 and a 30-plus years member of The American Legion Post 223, both in Shippensburg.
He was a huge advocate for local Lyme Disease patients and Lyme Disease awareness in Franklin County as he fought Lyme Disease for many years before battling cancer and a recent stroke.
His hobbies included collecting coins, hunting, attending Jeep shows and traveling to Florida in the winter months with his fishing friends.
He will be missed by his family and many friends that he had over the years.
Harold was preceded in death by his grandson, Camden William Cohick.
