A Franklin County crash left one-person dead Nov. 19. 

Edgar Polk, 69, from Shippensburg, was traveling eastbound in a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 on Upper Strasburg Road (SR 533) in Letterkenny Township when he traveled off the roadway, according to Chambersburg Pennsylvania State Police. 

The Ram  traveled approximately 160 feet through the grassy area before striking a utility pole located off the south side of the eastbound lane, at 4:02 p.m., officials said. 

The vehicle came to a final position of rest against the pole facing east. 

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed by Abe’s Towing.

Polk was transported to Chambersburg Hospital by Shippensburg EMS where he was pronounced dead at 5:12 p.m. 

Also assisting on scene was Pleasant Hall Fire Company and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
