During a special Shippensburg School Board meeting Monday to discuss an update for the Health and Safety Plan, a vote of 6-3 was made to approve making face mask coverings for the school district optional, “with a strong recommendation to wear masks.”

Those in attendance expressed gratitude for the compromise, while others noted they are still in favor of a mandatory masking protocol.
