Car Fire

A vehicle was destroyed by flames around 11 a.m. last Friday on the lot of Jennings Chevrolet and Buick on Norland Avenue in Chambersburg. ‘The vehicle was engulfed in flames in the engine compartment when we arrived on the scene about 3 minutes after the dispatch,’ said Chambersburg Fire Chief Dustin Ulrich. ‘The flames were endangering two other vehicles parked on both sides. We pulled two hose lines to extinguish the fire and to protect the other two vehicles. The burning vehicle was a total loss and very minimal damage to the other vehicles. The cause of the fire was related to a mechanical failure.’ No injuries were reported to any employees or firefighters. The Chambersburg Fire Department was on the scene for about 45 minutes.
