Barn Fire

This barn along Lebo Road in Penn Township was destroyed by flames Friday afternoon. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a barn at 98 Lebo Road in Penn Township Friday afternoon.

Police said a stolen Nissan Versa was found inside of the burning barn just after 4:30 p.m. Friday. The fire occurred just two hours after police say Chontelle M. Shirk, 40, of Dauphin, threatened her friend in the Carlisle Target parking lot, 246 Westminster Drive, and stole her friend’s Nissan. Police said Shirk sped out of the Target parking lot in the stolen vehicle, nearly hitting multiple pedestrians. Shirk was then spotted at different locations in Penn Township “acting in a strange manner.” One of her dogs that she had in the vehicle was located near the burning barn, police said.
