Details for PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE
PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE is hereby given that at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020, a Public Hearing will be held by the Supervisors of Penn Township at the Penn Township Building located at 1301 Centerville Road, Newville, Pennsylvania 17241. The purpose of the Public Hearing will be to review Ordinance 2020-06 which is an Ordinance vacating a portion of Sheaffer Road (T-430) situate in Penn Township, Cumberland County. Specifically that portion of Sheaffer Road as described in the Ordinance should be vacated as a public road because the bridge structure is deteriorating resulting in reduced weight carrying capability. The repairs needed to the bridge would be costly. Additionally, the replacement of the bridge is not an option due to the proximity of the Norfolk Southern tracks and any excavation may undermine the rails. Following the hearing, the Supervisors may enact this Ordinance. A copy of the Ordinance is available upon request by contacting the Penn Township Municipal Office, at 1301 Centerville Road, Newville, Pennsylvania 17241 or (717) 486-3104. Marcus A. McKnight, III, Esquire IRWIN & McKNIGHT, P.C. Solicitor for Penn Township
