The Big Spring Bulldog travel baseball team’s 10 oldest 9U players combined with 10-year-olds Parker Hamman and Drew Graver Barnouski to finish runner-up at the 10U level during the Beat the Heat Baseball Tournament held at the Newville Little League Complex Aug. 22 and 23.

The Bulldogs lost Saturday to the Chambersburg Trojans 10U team, 17-2, and tied the Letort Orioles, 12-12. They defeated the Letort Orioles Sunday, 18-9, to set up a rematch against the Chambersburg Trojans in the championship game, but it was the Trojans that pulled away late for the 16-8 victory.
