The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners recently adopted the $311.6 million county budget for 2020. The General Fund is $92.2 million of the total county budget, with no tax increase for the sixth consecutive year. The budget contains no increase in the county’s General Fund real estate rate. Real estate millage remains at 2.195 mills and library millage remains level at .166 mills.

The county real estate tax, per person, is the lowest county property tax of any in the region. In addition, a county citizen spends less of their earned income to pay for county services than other citizens in the surrounding counties.
