The John Graham Library in Newville is celebrating its 60th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 1, with two virtual special events.  At 11 a.m., there will be a program on the history of the library.  At 1:30 p.m., all kids and families are welcome at a virtual library birthday party. There will be games, crafts, a scavenger hunt, LEGO, cookie decorating, and more.

Newville Borough Mayor Randy Finkey recently presented a proclamation to library director Mary Schoedel recognizing the anniversary. The library originally opened on Aug. 1, 1960, as the Newville Public Library. It was located in one room at 7 S. High St. It is now located at 9 Parsonage St.
