Greyhound football outscored the Mechanicsburg Wildcats 20-0 in the second half of their Week 2 showdown, but the comeback attempt came far too late in the game -- and perhaps in the Greyhounds’ season.

The Wildcats (2-0, 2-0 Colonial) used an explosive 35-0 first half to squander the Greyhounds’ (0-2, 0-2 Colonial) hopes of a comeback in a 35-20 victory Friday night at Veterans Stadium. Even though the ‘Hounds put up 20 on the scoreboard, they did not see their first score until there was 7:49 remaining in the game. With the loss, the Greyhounds’ chances of making the four team District 3 Class 5A playoff field are quickly diminishing.
