The Shippensburg high school basketball team stayed in the fight against 6A heavyweights Central Dauphin before being dealt a fourth quarter knockout blow in the opening round of Mid Penn Playoffs Tuesday in Mechanicsburg, 71-61.

Central Dauphin (18-5) broke the back of Shippensburg (17-6) with a lightning quick 7-0 run with four minutes remaining, the final swing in a seesaw battle where the Greyhounds could never seem to get over the hump. The Rams advance to take on Bishop McDevitt (19-4) at Milton Hershey's Spartan Center Thursday in the Mid Penn Conference Championship Game.
