Jeremy “JT” Thomas

Ship sophomore Jeremy “JT” Thomas drives to the basket against Big Spring's Seth Griffie during the Greyhounds' victory over the Bulldogs Friday.

The Shippensburg high school basketball team was pegged to do big things since the start of the season. Friday night the Greyhounds showed what the prognosticators and head coach Ray Staver had envisioned, as they appeared locked-in in all phases of the game during a blowout win over rivals Big Spring at home, 72-51.

Shippensburg (11-3, 7-1 Colonial) picked apart Big Spring's formidable zone defense like it was a stroll in the park. They were just as dominant defensively and on the glass, leading the Bulldogs (7-7, 2-5 Colonial) by as much as 34 points in the second half.
