In front of a packed house Saturday afternoon at Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium, the Shippensburg University football team struggled to the tune of a 48-28 season-opening loss to Clarion University.

Clarion dominated the Red Raiders through the first half using a heavy dose of the run game on offense and a dominating performance from their defensive line to keep redshirt sophomore quarterback Brycen Mussina uncomfortable in the pocket for the majority of the afternoon.
