Greyhound guard Emilie Nonemaker drives to the basket between Greencastle defenders Sayge Wilhide and Olivia Winslow Friday at Shippensburg Area Senior High School.

The Shippensburg high school girls basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Mid Penn Colonial Division with a hard-fought victory over defending league champs Greencastle Friday at SASHS, 46-36.

Shippensburg (6-1, 4-0 Colonial) hounded the Blue Devils (4-3, 3-1 Colonial) on the defensive end for the full 32 minutes in a low-scoring, rough-and-tumble affair between the Colonial Division’s last two remaining unbeatens. Junior guard Tori Rumbaugh led the Greyhounds in scoring once again, collecting 15 points and 5 assists. Sophomore forward Chloe Forrester finished with 11 points and 8 boards.
