Jayden Statum

Greyhound point guard Jayden Statum drives to the basket against Gettysburg's Quadir Copeland Saturday at Dunks for Drew in Chambersburg.

What went down in the scorebook as a one-point loss to the Gettysburg Warriors Saturday could end up being much more for the Shippensburg high school basketball team down the road.

The Greyhounds (8-3) gave the Warriors (11-0) – the top-ranked 5A team in the district – all they could handle in the second game of a triple header at Dunks for Drew in Chambersburg, giving themselves a chance to win the game in the final seconds. But Isaiah Houser's hurried attempt from just over half court caromed off the front rim, resulting in a 64-63 loss.
