Dear Editor,

I’m writing to inform your readers that Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is not supporting any effort to stop members of gun clubs from shooting on Sundays, despite this false claim recently published in your newspaper (Outdoors, published May 30).

In fact, Farm Bureau has no policy calling for any restrictions on the legal operation of shooting clubs in Pennsylvania.

In addition, Farm Bureau has no opposition to maintaining the status quo for hunting on Sundays in the commonwealth, which allows for the legal hunting of foxes, coyotes and crows.

Finally, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau has never called for or even discussed the concept of “gunfire free Sundays.” Anyone making that claim is simply not telling the truth.
