I am writing this Letter to the Editor of the Shippensburg News-Chronicle concerning the photograph of the tombstone/monument of Sgt. Robert Green published on page 6 of the May 28, 2020, edition.

Sgt. Robert Green died April 25, 1894, and was buried in the Queen Street Cemetery. The Locust Grove Cemetery did not exist at the time of his death. The ground for Locust Grove Cemetery was not purchased until 1906 when it was purchased from John Shugart. The Locust Grove Cemetery was not chartered until 1922 when a notice of charter appeared in the Sept. 13, 1922, newspaper.
