Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, was a big day at the Chamberlin Farm on Maclays Mill Road. Family and friends from as far as Texas and Dubois were assembled there for this event that began shortly after 7 a.m.

Of course, nothing began until the head butcher, Clair Martin of Middle Spring, arrived. He is the most important ingredient for a successful butchering day; second only to the hogs.
