Friendship Hose

A framed artifact at Friendship Hose Co., pictured, details some of the early history of Newville’s fire company. It was made by J.T. Hackett.

The top of the artifact says Friendship Fire Co. No. 1 was organized in January 1874 in Newville. The first president was W.F. Kline; the first vice president was Alex Heckman; the first secretary was Joshua W. Sharp; and the first treasurer was S.M. Kuhn.
