The 5th Annual Bloom Festival, hosted by the Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, is set for this Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Shippensburg Borough Parking Lot located on West Burd Street.

The Bloom Festival includes more than 60 vendors including craft, retail, plant and flower vendors, as well as nonprofit organizations. There will also be food vendors on site selling delicious food to enjoy!

Children’s inflatables will be provided by Strouse Entertainment, who will also provide music.

Shippensburg Fire Police will be positioned on King Street in front of the Shippensburg Historical Society to assist pedestrians safely across King Street to the venue. Parking for the event is available at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activities Center, located on West Orange Street.

Thank you to our sponsors for partnering with us: Gannon Associates Insurance for “blooming” the chamber porch with colorful flowers and to Chamberlin and Wingert Sanitary Services for providing our comfort facilities.

In addition to the Bloom Festival, the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest hosted by D.O.I.T. (Downtown Organizations Investing Together), the Duck Derby hosted by the Shippensburg Public Library and the Battle of the Bagpipes hosted by the Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation Authority and The Shippensburg Station will be happening on the same day.

Shippensburg is the place to be on Saturday, June 8!

The “Chamber Chatter” column will appear monthly in The News-Chronicle to keep the community informed of Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce developments.
