Anita M. Hoaglund

Anita Mae Hoaglund, 95, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.

Born on July 16, 1923, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Ruth R. (Pomeroy) Scott.

Anita was a member of the First United Church of Christ. She developed and started the Instructional Materials Center for the Carlisle School District. She volunteered at the grade school libraries and was a Cub Scout leader.

Anita was a loving caregiver to her mother and husband for many years. She loved to dance, and was an avid reader and animal lover.

Anita is survived by her son, Scott L. Hoaglund and his wife, Donna, of Boiling Springs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Hoaglund, and a brother, William “Bill” Scott.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St., Carlisle, with Rev. Chris Schwab officiating. Burial will follow at Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
