William F. Washinger Jr.

William “Bill” Franklin Washinger Jr., 86, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 6, 1934, in Oakville, the son of the late William Franklin Sr., and Grace L. (Holtry) Washinger.

William graduated from Shippensburg High School.

He worked as a weaver at Richard Textile for 10 years. He then worked at Sunoco until his retirement. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed racing with go-karts and sprint cars. Every year, he looked forward to going to see the Daytona 500 in Florida.

William is survived by his son, Douglas R. Washinger of Shippensburg; daughter, Brenda L. (Tony McCurdy) Washinger of Camp Hill; grandson, Korey C. (Jen R.) Washinger of Catawba, North Carolina; granddaughter, Drista N. Morris of Shippensburg; three great-granddaughters, Shealyn R. Morris, Alona L. Morris and Karizma R. Washinger; and two brothers, Robert Washinger of Camp Hill and Ray Washinger of Shippensburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. (Gutshall) Washinger, who passed in April of 2018; son, Stanley E. Washinger; brother, Richard Washinger; and sister, Margaret Tritt.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., Shippensburg.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020, at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, with Pastor John D. Culbertson officiating.

A Public Viewing will be held from noon until time of services Friday.

Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
