Guilford Township Crash


An older couple suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash that occurred in the 3600 block of the Molly Pitcher Highway South, Guilford Township, Chambersburg, around 4:50 p.m. Sunday. Both occupants were trapped in the vehicle after it left the road for unknown reasons, and hit a tree head-on. Emergency personnel had to extricate them from the vehicle, and they were both flown to York Trauma Center by Life Net 8-1 and Life Lion helicopters. A landing zone was set up about a quarter of a mile away at the Franklin County Training Center.

Several Pennsylvania State Police troopers investigated the crash. Emergency personnel from the Marion Fire Co., Marion EMS, New Franklin Fire Co., West Shore EMS & ALS, Waynesboro ALS and several fire police departments assisted on the scene.
