Chicken Coop Fire

A large chicken coop in the 100 block of Clay Road, between Newville and Carlisle, was partially destroyed by flames around 4 a.m. June 16.

 

A large chicken coop in the 100 block of Clay Road, between Newville and Carlisle, was partially destroyed by fire around 4 a.m. June 16.

The 500-foot-by-80-foot chicken coop was just recently built in West Pennsboro Township, and the owner was expecting his first load of chickens or peeps the same morning. No chickens were inside when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.
