Tractor Trailer Crash

One of two tractor-trailers involved in an accident at the intersection of Newville Road in Lovers Lane, Hopewell Township, last Thursday, is pictured.

Two tractor-trailers collided in the intersection of Newville Road and Lovers Lane in Hopewell Township around 10 a.m. last Thursday.

One driver was seriously injured, and transported to Holy Spirit-Geisinger Hospital for treatment. The other driver escaped injuries in the crash.

One of the trucks went into a cow field upon impact, and knocked a fence down before coming to a stop.

Pennsylvania State Police-Carlisle investigated the crash.

One trooper said at the scene the crash was caused when one of the drivers crossed the double yellow line.

Emergency personnel from the Newburg-Hopewell Fire Co., Shippensburg Area EMS & ALS, Fire Police and John’s Mobile Wrecker Service assisted on the scene.
