Guilford Township Crash

An unknown age male operator suffered serious injuries when the vehicle he was operating left the road and struck a telephone pole, snapping the pole and bringing down hot power lines around 3 p.m. Sept. 11, along New Franklin Road, near Overcash Road, in Guilford Township. An Air Medical unit was requested, but could not respond due to the weather. The driver was then transported to Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, via ambulance for treatment. A portion of the road was closed until the power company could fix the pole and wires. Pennsylvania State Police-Chambersburg investigated the crash. Emergency personnel from the New Franklin Fire Co., Mont Alto EMS, West Shore ALS, Marion Fire Co. and several Fire Police departments assisted on the scene.
