The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has named sujatha baliga -- a 1989 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School -- one of its prestigious 2019 Fellows for her work in criminal justice.

baliga, 48, was among 26 recipients, the foundation recently announced. baliga is an attorney, and the director of the Restorative Justice Project, which is an initiative of the national innovation and research center Impact Justice, based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also a childhood sexual abuse survivor.
