The Rutter’s store at 1 Airport Road in Shippensburg is among several stores listed throughout Pennsylvania that were affected by a data breach that occurred between 2018 and 2019.

Rutter’s convenience stores have issued a statement involving a data breach recently discovered at a number of locations, including the Shippensburg store and two Carlisle stores in Cumberland County, as well as several in Franklin County.

According to the Rutter’s website, malware was discovered that accessed card numbers that were used in specific timeframes throughout 2018 and 2019. The Shippensburg location at 1 Airport Road, and two locations in Carlisle -- 1150 Harrisburg Pike and 1455 York Road -- are among the locations affected by the breach between Oct. 1, 2018, and May 29, 2019. In Franklin County, the store at 1391 S. Main St. in Chambersburg was affected by the malware from Sept. 26, 2018, to May 29, 2019, and two locations in Fayetteville -- 6837 Lincoln Way East and 4030 Lincoln Way East -- were affected between Oct. 1, 2018, and May 29, 2019.
