At the June 16 Shippensburg Borough Council meeting, residents Steven Brenize, Andrew Burdge and Ben Geesaman pushed for transparency in training and body cameras to encourage police reform during a time of racial divide in the country.

Brenize also implored council to cut the police department budget by 10 percent to save money for other projects and endeavors in the community, specifically a youth center that has been discussed by officials for many years, but has not come to fruition.
