Summit Health

Summit Health and WellSpan Health will expand specialty care options, such as cardiology and pulmonology, at 97 Progress Blvd. in Shippensburg.

Summit Health and WellSpan Health are adding three new specialty services in Shippensburg to better serve patients in Cumberland County.

Pulmonology, cardiology and OB/GYN practices will open in a new larger location at 97 Progress Blvd. The current general surgery and orthopedic offices currently located on Walnut Bottom road will also move to Progress Boulevard. The current offices in the Progress Boulevard building, including Dr. Wellmon’s office and Drayer Physical Therapy, will remain at this location, as well.

“We believe the people in our community should not have to travel for the care they need,” said Niki Hinckle, senior vice president of physician services. “We’re excited we’re able to provide this level of expert care to Shippensburg and its neighboring communities.”

Shippensburg Urgent Care; lab and imaging; rehabilitation; and family medicine will stay at 46 Walnut Bottom Road.

Later this year, a renovation project will begin at family medicine. When complete, additional primary care providers will be added to the practice, along with counseling services.
