This week’s Blast from the Past is all about the sweets -- apple dessert, ice cream, custard and a few other items thrown in for good measure!

The story is taken from an article featured on the front of the B Section of a March 1962 edition of The News-Chronicle. The headline reads: “SASHS Home Ec Teacher Has Meat Recipe Published.” While beginning to read the article, my eyes shifted to the photo of a pretty young lady whose face looked familiar to me. It was none other than Kathleen Foltz, only I know her (like many others my age), as Mrs. Kerr, the Home Economics Teacher! Yep, there she was, the home economics teacher from my high school days, on the front page a year before I was born.
