Workers struck a water line near the intersection of Fayette and West King streets in Shippensburg Borough Friday morning before Christmas.

According to Borough Manager Kevin Plasterer, the line was struck around 9:15 a.m., by workers from Michael F. Ronca & Sons Inc., who were not aware of the piping as part of a year-long project to replace the century-old line that spans along King Street from Morris Street to Walnut Bottom Road.
