The Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail’s TrailFest 5K, which was originally set for April, will instead take place Friday, Sept. 4.

The Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail’s rescheduled TrailFest is on and in person. The 10K & 5K race and the 25-mile bike ride will be held Friday, Sept. 4, with a limited field size and in conjunction with Ship First Fridays. The event will include food trucks, a beer garden and live music. The music is free, and beer, wine and food is available for purchase. All events will be held at the Shippensburg Station, located at the corner of Fort and Earl streets in Shippensburg

To maintain social distancing, everyone must pre-register for one of 5 half-hour time slots per event with a maximum of 15 per half hour, 225 total. Please try to pick up your bib number and start in that 1/2 hour. Each person will start one at a time as they are ready. Time slots for the bike will start at 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., 10K at 3:30 - 4 and 5k at 4 - 4:30. Everyone must be off the course by sunset at 7:35.

No same-day registrations will be accepted. Everyone must pre-register for a half-hour time slot.

The results of the 5K and 10K will count toward the 2020 Cumberland Valley Race Series. Awards for the 5K and 10K races will go to the top overall male and female, top masters male and female, as well as the top male and female in the following age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.

Runners will start one at a time and awards will be based on your chip time. There will be no awards ceremony after the race. You may pick up your award at First Fridays after the last person finishes. All awards not picked up will be mailed.

The Ramble and 1-mile kids run have been canceled.

TrailFest is being brought to you by the Cumberland Valley Rail-to-Trails Council. Proceeds will be used to maintain the existing trail and extend the trail from Shippensburg to Carlisle.
