Newburg held a virtual Memorial Day Service Saturday to commemorate the town’s 90th anniversary celebration.

Ten-year-old Laine Holtry was recorded as he read the Gettysburg Address at the borough office, and his brother Heath and sister Austyn placed the flowers at the World War II Monument.

Newburg mayor Melissa Negley read a proclamation recognizing the day, and her children joined in to help hold flags at the monument.

The virtual ceremony was a great way to continue to uphold the proud Newburg tradition in spite of COVID-19.
