SAAA Gifts

The Shippensburg Area Athletic Association knows times are tough for parents right now, and with Christmas right around the corner parents may need a little help making this year’s Christmas a special one for their child.

The SAAA is interested in assisting parents who may be struggling to get their child, ages 5-15, a sports or outdoor activity gift they have on their Christmas list. Gift ideas include, but are not limited to, sports and outdoor activities (baseball gloves, baseball bats -- metal or wood, helmets, cleats, footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, bikes, scooters, etc.).

The organization is providing the free gifts in memory of former board member Jean Clugh, who passed away July 29, 2019.

According to SAAA President Todd Martin, Clugh ran the concession stand for baseball games, high school and middle school football games and soccer games at Veterans Stadium.

She was involved in many Shippensburg community organizations including Friends of Memorial Park Pool, Kids Event Committee, Reading Rainbow and the Fair Committee.

“Jean loved sports and watching kids play them, so that is why we decided to give sports and outdoors activity gifts in her name,” Martin said. “We believe in getting kids active outside whether it's playing a sport or just riding a bike.”

Please complete the attached form and submit it to the SAAA at 4 Raven Way, Shippensburg, Pa. 17257, or via email to: no later than Dec. 11.

Unfortunately, not all submissions will be able to receive a gift.  It would be the SAAA’s wish to fulfill as many submissions as possible. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Parents of children receiving a gift will be notified prior to Dec. 15, and gifts will be delivered to families by Dec. 23.

All information provided will be kept confidential.
