UPMC Pinnacle recently celebrated the graduation of 44 residents and three fellows from its Graduate Medical Education residency and fellowship programs. To commemorate the achievement safely, each program honored its graduates in a unique way, from organizing virtual Zoom graduations to holding small luncheons and parties while adhering to the social distancing guidelines. The capstone activity included a farewell video recognizing each resident and fellow.

UPMC Pinnacle offers residency programs in anesthesia, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, ob-gyn, orthopaedic surgery, and podiatric medicine, and fellowship programs in maternal fetal medicine and sports medicine. Residents and fellows complete a rigorous curriculum that draws on clinical experiences and opportunities to extend their medical education beyond the classroom by learning to interact with patients and colleagues, balancing technical skills with a human touch, and practicing in a hospital and clinic setting among a diverse population.
