‘Heartland: a Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke In the Richest Country on Earth'

Cumberland County libraries have partnered with other area libraries for ‘One Book, One Community: Our Region Reads’ project. The book is Sarah Smarsh’s ‘Heartland: a Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke In the Richest Country on Earth.’

Cumberland County libraries are partnering with more than 40 libraries in three surrounding counties – Dauphin, Perry, and York – for this year’s “One Book, One Community: Our Region Reads” project. The book everyone will be reading is “Heartland: a Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke In the Richest Country on Earth,” by Sarah Smarsh.

Reading campaign organizers encourage residents to read the book and attend free programs held at public libraries beginning in February, which is Library Lovers’ and Book Lovers’ Month.
